He oversees the Sunday School and guide Interfaith, Youth, Young Professionals, Seniors’ and Sisters’ programs, as well as several other initiatives he is passionate about, insha’Allah.
Attorney Refai Arefin is also the founder of the Law Ofices of Refai Arefin. Attorney Arefin received his Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from Brown University. He attended law school at Quinnipiac University School of Law, where he participated in the Criminal Appellate Defense Clinic and interned with United States Senior District Judge Dominic Squatrito. While at law school, he was also an associate editor of Quinnipiac Health Law Journal. Attorney Arefin has interned with the Prosecutions Unit of the New York State Division of Human Rights, where he participated in employment, housing and credit cases. He has clerked at the Law Offices of Richard Emanuel, Esq. , as well as Seifert & Hogan, P.C., where he focused on civil and criminal appellate law.

Beyond his professional success, Hossein has dedicated his expertise to empowering communities. He has served as a board member and real estate financial advisor to nonprofit organizations, helping them establish sustainable endowments. He was a driving force behind the creation of the NUR Youth Center and served as the lead site project manager for the construction of the Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Center, one of the largest Islamic centers in Northern Virginia. Hossein also played a key role in working with the U.S. Capitol Hill staffers to establish, manage and maintain Friday prayers in the U.S. Capitol, demonstrating his commitment to faith and community engagement. Hossein’s passion for innovation and leadership is showcased through Oasis Hill, a groundbreaking 10-acre innovation hub located minutes from the U.S. Capitol, designed to empower young professionals and encourage collaboration. Oasis Hill serves as a dynamic space for nurturing leadership and driving positive change within the American Muslim community and beyond. Hossein is presently engaged in the ongoing development of Oasis Hill, ensuring it remains a vibrant platform for growth and innovation. Through his commitment to progress and philanthropy, Hossein Goal continues to inspire and uplift those around him.

After completing memorization of the Quran at the age of eleven, Imam went on to study Shariah and gained comprehensive knowledge of Hadith and Fiqh. He is a certified Qari in three styles of recitation and has command of Arabic, Somali, and English. Since 1996, Sh. Abdullahi has served as a teacher and Imam at various Washington, DC-area mosques and Islamic schools.
Prior to joining MCC, he was Imam at Masjid Abdul-Moghni in La Plata, MD, where he led five daily congregational prayers, delivered Tafseer and Hadith lectures, and taught Tajweed classes. Imam Mohamed was also a religious volunteer with the Southern Maryland Pre- Release Unit (SMPRU) in Charlotte Hall, MD, where he organized an Islamic Outreach Program for Muslim inmates.
He has also served as Director and teacher at Dar-ul-Nur, The Islamic Institution for Somali Muslim Community in Falls Church, VA. There, he taught beginner and advanced-level Arabic courses for adults and delivered weekly Tafseer and Fiqh lectures. Additionally, he taught Arabic, Quran, and Islamic studies at Al-Huda School in College Park, MD.
Sh. Abdullahi graduated with Honors in Licentiate (Masters-level) in Arabic Language and Islamic Studies from Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt. He also holds a Diploma in Shariah from the National Somali University in Mogadishu, Somalia.

He is a founding member of the Alsabeel Community Center in Rockville MD, and also works closely with multiple charity groups to help those in need. Said earned his master’s degree in business administration from the University of Sherbrooke. Said is a resident of Montgomery County Maryland, and lives with his wife and son.

Bashar has effectively secured licenses and contracts in a number of states, such as Virginia, Ohio, Arizona, North Carolina, Maryland, West Virginia, and Georgia. He has been acknowledged by national health organizations for his contributions to Medicare and Medicaid products in collaboration with prominent healthcare providers, including Anthem, Humana, UnitedHealthcare, and Aetna.
Bashar revitalized the nonprofit organization AMEEN Group, which offers business opportunities and networking opportunities to Muslim entrepreneurs in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia, in addition to his business ventures. The group's business networking division generated revenue under his stewardship, which was used to invest in a community app that was designed to rebuild and improve local businesses. The AMEEN initiative was on the brink of national expansion under his leadership, and has now transitioned to the M1U Foundation.

Mr. Bashir’s legal career is distinguished by his success in winning hundreds of cases across various legal domains, including civil litigation, real estate, bankruptcy, and family law. His early career includes prestigious clerkships with the Honorable Judge Inez-Smith Reed of the Washington, D.C. Court of Appeals and the Honorable Judge David Sawyer of the Michigan Court of Appeals. These experiences laid the foundation for his comprehensive understanding of the law and his strategic approach to complex legal issues.
In addition to his litigation success, Mr. Bashir has represented a diverse clientele, including commercial landlords, international firms, and publicly traded companies. As a general counsel, he advises numerous for-profit and non-profit entities, helping them navigate the complexities of the legal landscape. His role extends to assisting startups, where he has acted as Chief Legal Officer, providing critical legal guidance to emerging businesses.
Mr. Bashir is a member of the United States Federal Courts in Maryland and an active participant on the Maryland Peer Review Committee ethics committee. He takes pride in maintaining strong, enduring relationships with his clients and has never lost a client throughout his career. His commitment is driven by a mission to achieve client objectives without making legal fees a burden, firmly believing that the benefits of legal representation should always outweigh its costs.
Beyond his legal practice, Mr. Bashir is an avid traveler who has explored various regions across the globe, bringing a broad perspective to his work and life.

He practiced advanced criminal fraud law in London before moving back to Bangladesh to practice corporate and banking law in 2007. He also specialised in IP law and pioneered artist/talent management in Bangladesh under his agency "ACES management and consultancy". He also produced and managed/distributed micro and macro audio-visual content and advised several digital pr and marketing agencies of Bangladesh.
He recently advised Bangladesh National Cricketer Shakib Al Hasan on setting up and administering his welfare trust and foundation which worked through the pandemic to raise funds up-to $200,000 and disburse PPE, funds and relief. He also co-founded Auction for Action (A4A), a hugely popular charity auction which engaged all the high profile celebrities and personalities of Bangladesh and raised more than $100,000 in less than 3 months. He has recently joined Mastul Foundation, an effective NPO in Bangladesh, as an advisor.
He is currently an Executive Producer of various international and local formatted TV Shows and Films in Bangladesh.

Before this, Shoaib was part of the management team for the real estate group of a Fortune 100 company, Cendent, where he oversaw the multi-billion-dollar revenue of real estate franchises, including Century 21, Coldwell-Banker, and ERA. He collaborated closely with the technical team to develop a digital platform that tracked franchise performance nationwide while supporting internal management processes.
